Lamonte Foreman-Powell, PLMHP Therapist

I am an Army veteran, wounded warrior, and an active-duty military (U.S. Air Force) spouse, native of the inner city of Norfolk, Virginia. I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in psychology at The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, then went on to earn my Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha graduating as the Student Marshal of the winter class of 2022.

During my years of training and work, I have had the privilege to serve many communities: underserved, middle class, upper-class, Native American, substance abuse, LGBTQ+, Military, Adolescents, trauma & crisis, and so many more.  Additionally, I have assisted individuals, couples, groups, and crisis work for the military during training while working as a mental health counselor (intern). Being a veteran and wounded warrior myself, I have a special passion for the military community, as well as marginalized communities (LGBTQIA+, Urban, and Women).

I am currently stationed in Honolulu, HI and working as a PLMHP Mental Health Therapist (100% Remote) at Omaha Trauma Therapy. My primary form of therapy is CBT-REBT, but I truly believe that that one size does not fit all, so I tailor techniques and treatment plans according to my client’s needs. A fun fact about myself is my first professional career field I was a Certified Professional Culinarian and Pastry Chef and still enjoy cooking and baking during my free time. If you feel like I would be a great fit, please feel free to contact us here.
