Jennifer L. Smith, PLMHP, NCC Therapist

Jennifer (Jenni) is a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP) currently working under the supervision of Myisha Parsha, LIMHP, LADC. Jenni joined the OTT team in 2023. Jenni holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She completed her internship through the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Munroe-Meyer Institute where she worked in an integrated behavioral health setting with children, adolescents, and parents with a variety of needs. Jenni believes in expanding access to mental health services in underserved areas and populations and has been putting that belief to practice since graduating, seeing clients via telehealth in rural areas and small towns across western Nebraska.

Jenni is experienced in working with a diverse range of populations and ages including children ages 3+, adolescents, adults, and elders with areas of concern including but not limited to compliance, behavior, anxiety, trauma, relationships, and communication. Jenni also enjoys working with the LGBTQ+ population. Jenni offers individual, couples, and family counseling. Jenni believes that a strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation for helpful change. Her theoretical framework is integrated, drawing from several evidence-based theories including Client Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance & Commitment, Behavioral, and Transactional Analysis, working to match techniques and practices with each individual client based on their unique needs. Jenni conducts services via telehealth and is currently accepting new clients statewide.
