Willow Kovanda, LPC, LMHP, PLADC Therapist

Hello everyone, my name is Willow and I am an LMHP, LPC, and PLADC. I received my masters from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and have had the opportunity to be a part of this amazing field since 2017. Throughout most of my career I have worked with families and justice involved youth and adults. In the last two years I have also enjoyed working with a variety of people from all backgrounds and experiences. Couples and families are a passion of mine as I believe relationships are so integral in our lives and to our healing. The one thing that is similar with all of my clients is that no single person is the same and everyone has had an amazing I have been blessed to be a part of.

Its difficult to decide on a therapist and even more difficult to take the leap to coming in and seeing how it goes. If I were to describe myself, I would say that I am quirky, nerdy, and definitely someone that accepts all, after all, I myself don't quite fit the mold. I consider myself an ally of the LGBTQIA community (all couples happily welcome!) and try to ensure that no matter what, you are safe in my office, free of judgment or bias. I also enjoy having the opportunity to work with different cultures and am always seeking to ensure that if therapy has never been an acceptable option in your life, that I will work hard to take culture and background into account as well. I am systemically oriented, meaning that while you may be coming to therapy as an individual, your world and experiences are unique and provide both challenges and opportunities. I know that there are many fears associated with coming to therapy and maybe you are unsure if you want to give it a try or even one last try, but I would honored to be a part of this chapter of your life. I enjoy being an advocate, finding solutions together, and working with you and continuing to grow myself by asking for frequent feedback and trying to ensure that each step of the therapeutic process is collaborative.

While I can't promise you your own Good Will Hunting moment, I can promise that I will strive to ensure that your time is unique and catered to you and your needs and and at the very least, you are able to have a space where you, your family, or you and your partner can rest assured that I am working just as hard and you are accepted. I work afternoons and later evenings and also try to work with your schedules (for you parents out there, i will make sure we find a time between that doesn't cause more stress). If I sound like the fit for you, I invite you to reach out and would love to talk more to see if I am the fit for you!
